Make sense of your choices

Moving? Let’s check your plan.

A new address does not automatically invalidate your documents.

The short version.

Tell us what changed.

Where will you live, work, and own property? Which institutions and helpers need current documents?

Check practical use.

Validity and an institution’s acceptance are separate questions. We identify whether local counsel or revised arrangements are needed.

Keep it coordinated.

Review ownership, beneficiary forms, and your chosen helpers alongside the documents. Important changes need not wait for the annual review.

A practical example.

More detail, if you want it.

Open the explanation and sources

A move can change property, advisors, taxes, and institutions. Residence, domicile, work, and property locations may differ; a team address does not settle them all.

Inventory the change

  • Where will you live, work and own real estate?
  • Which doctors, banks and advisors need documents?
  • Are there new contracts, benefits or school requirements?
  • Are the people named to help still suitable and available?

Validity and practical acceptance are separate

A document may remain valid while an institution requests more information. Get local advice where needed before discarding documents or signing competing versions.

College transfers add another layer

NIL reporting, school procedures and contract terms may need review. Coordinate with the new compliance office and contract advisors. A move does not automatically assign an agreement or remove its restrictions.

Use the lifetime relationship

Tell us before the move or transaction. Lifetime estate planning counsel and one annual revision are included. We identify needed changes and any need for counsel in another jurisdiction.
